One frequent mistake is thinking that a new metallic part does not need blasting! Even in case of a new part, there is a covering layer resulted from the manufacturing process, that needs to be removed before applying the paint layer, in order to increase the paint’s efficiency. A new metallic part is adequately prepared for its subsequent protective treatment, if it is submitted to abrasive grit blasting first.
